Set the date for LouisvilleKY’s annual Oscar Party by the Louisville Film Society

Louisville, KY— With award season now in full swing, the Louisville Film Society announces its 4th Annual Oscar Watch Party to be held Sunday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at The Loft at The Gillespie. Although La La Land ran away with the Golden Globes, Oscar Watch guests will enjoy making their own predictions during the live Academy Awards broadcast from Dolby Theater.

The Oscar Watch Party is LFS’s primary fundraiser helping to support the organization’s programming and operations throughout the year. LFS Chairman Stu Pollard, who is a filmmaker himself, noted that the industry has exploded in Kentucky this past year. “LFS provides valuable services to industry professionals that have helped foster this boon. The Oscar Watch Party celebrating Hollywood’s biggest night is a great opportunity for local film buffs to co-mingle with area filmmakers. It’s a lot of fun!”

Guests will be welcomed on the red carpet by Masters of Ceremony Kirby Adams and Christine Fellingham before joining the celebration in the glitz and glamour of an Academy Awards worthy setting at The Loft at The Gillespie. Multiple large-screen TVs will be placed for viewing the ceremony with a designated lounge area for the more serious Oscar Watch attendee. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and a full open bar featuring Hollywood-inspired libations will be served over the course of the evening. Guests can also participate for prizes in an overall ballot competition and raffles for each of the nominated categories, peruse the silent auction, and take photos to remember the night in our Delta Dental Smile Booth.

According to LFS Executive Director Soozie Eastman, the silent auction contributes significant revenue for LFS. “We have several unique Hollywood packages including autographed merchandise as well as luxury experiences donated by local spas, LFS_OWP_2016_Jennifer Lawrence Oscarentertainment venues, restaurants and hotels. Our auction focuses on experiences and items that represent the best of Louisville.” An autographed Passengers poster by Louisville’s favorite star Jennifer Lawrence will be in the auction as well as Louisville Arts ticket packages and baskets from Primp Style Lounge and Barry Wooley Designs.

Tickets to LFS’s Oscar Watch Party go on sale January 12 and are $100, which includes a one-year $50 LFS membership. They may be purchased at www.louisvillefilmsociety.org. Cocktail attire is encouraged.
