Louisville-Cal State Fullerton Super Regional Begins Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 3 national seed Louisville baseball team will continue its pursuit of a third consecutive College World Series berth on Saturday against 13th-ranked Cal State Fullerton in game one of the NCAA Super Regional at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Saturday’s Super Regional opener between the Cardinals (46-16) and Titans (37-22) is set for 11 a.m., ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN2, while game two of the best-of-three series is scheduled for Sunday at noon on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. If necessary, the deciding third game is scheduled for Monday (ESPN or ESPN2) with the time to be determined following Sunday’s second game. The victorious team at the Louisville Super Regional will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

All-session tickets for the Louisville Super Regional are on sale and can be purchased online here, by phone at 502-GO-CARDS or through the Louisville Cardinals Ticket Office. All-session tickets for the Super Regional are $45 for reserved chairback seats, $25 for general admission and outfield berm seating and $15 for college students.

Single-session tickets will go on sale on Thursday, June 4 at 9 a.m. ET. Tickets may be purchased online here or at the Louisville Cardinals Ticket Office located at Gate 2 of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Remaining tickets will also be available at the Jim Patterson Stadium ticket windows beginning two hours prior to first pitch on game day. Single-session tickets for the Super Regional are $20 for reserved chairback seats, $10 for general admission and outfield berm and $5 for college students.

The Cardinals earned their third straight NCAA Super Regional berth and the fifth in the last nine seasons by winning the Louisville Regional last weekend at Jim Patterson Stadium. Extending its postseason home winning streak to 11 games overall, Louisville swept through the double elimination Regional with a 7-2 victory over Morehead State followed by 4-3 and 13-4 wins against Michigan.

The Titans clinched their 12th Super Regional berth and won their 21st NCAA Regional title by sweeping through the Fullerton Regional at Goodwin Field. Cal State Fullerton opened the weekend with a 9-3 win over Pepperdine on Friday. Following a 3-2 victory in 14 innings against Arizona State on Saturday, the Titans clinched the Regional with a 10-1 triumph over Pepperdine on Sunday night.

Louisville is hosting an NCAA Super Regional for the second straight season and the third time overall. The Cardinals are 28-6 at home this season and improved to 18-4 all-time in NCAA postseason games at Jim Patterson Stadium with the trio of wins in last weekend’s Regional.
