Louisville, Ky., – New architectural designs of the massive Omni Hotel project in Downtown Louisville have been revealed today.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Omni officials released the designs this afternoon at a Metro Hall press conference.
The 30-story glass and brick tower will feature 600 luxury hotel rooms on the lower levels. The upper levels will consist of 225 high-end apartments. The complex, bounded by Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Second, Third and Liberty Streets, will also feature a 20,000 square foot grocery store.
“From local art being featured inside to a unique bourbon bar to a rooftop swimming pool, this hotel will be a stunning addition to our downtown,” Fischer said at the news conference.
Several restaurants, meeting spaces, a fitness center, spa, retail shops and other amenities are also planned.
Mayor Fischer said the project will create 765 prevailing-wage construction jobs and more than 300 permanent positions.
Plans are to be filed soon with the Planning Commission and a Downtown Review Overlay Committee for approval.
