I trust Louisville and the Highlands neighborhood will embrace the newest addition to the Farmers Market family—Douglass Loop Farmer’s Market, beginning Saturday, April 16.
The goal of market organizer, Blair Helvey, is “to provide a direct conduit between Kentucky producers and local consumers for the sale of healthy and affordable goods.”
With Kentucky Proud products along side info on sustainable living, the vendors should create a wide range of interest for local merchants, schools, organizations and families in the Highlands and beyond.
The spring market runs through Sept. 24with a Fall & Holiday market running from October 01- December 17, 2011. It is open from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM on all market days.
Just a tater’s throw from the historic Loop, this new market will fill the Douglass Blvd Christian Church parking lot with a variety of vendors for shoppers seeking fresh produce, meat, eggs, artisan cheese, locally made natural cleaning supplies, pastries, and more under the welcoming canopy of trees and spring skies.
Live music, pro-active networking and an opportunity to learn more about food origins, meal preparation and a chance to meet your Kentucky farmers are all part of this vibrant new market.
Organizers are now receiving applications for the spring market. Vendor Application form as well as Rules and Regulation forms can be located at the www.douglassloopfarmersmarket.com
Take time to welcome this new market by dropping in after your tax deadline for refreshing company and good food. Visit any of our Louisville Metro Farmers Markets whenever you find yourself in their vicinity! It’s all good!
