Over 20,000 GIE+expO participants to contribute to LouisvilleKY economy

Louisville, KY – The annual Green Industry and Equipment expo (GIE+expO), along with the co-located Hardscape North America (HNA), will make its return to the Kentucky exposition Center on October 17 – 19.

Attendee registration numbers are trending over last year. Over 20,000 participants have registered from over 25 countries and are expected to attend this year’s event.  Nearly $19 million in estimated economic impact is expected from this show.

Continuing the shows’ record-breaking trajectory, the 2018 shows are shaping up to be bigger than ever, with more than 210 new exhibitors; increased exhibit space – both indoors and outdoors; new education and big-name speakers, including oceanographer and U.S. Navy officer Dr. Robert Ballard, who discovered the Titanic wreckage, on the lineup.

Over 1,000 exhibits will cover more than 675,000 sq. ft. inside the Kentucky exposition Center, as well as the 20-acre outdoor demonstration area, which is a popular feature of the show that offers attendees an opportunity to compare products and try them before buying them.

“These shows provide an international marketplace for dealers, lawn and landscape professionals and retailers to see and demonstrate new hardscape products, lawn and garden products and outdoor power equipment,” said Warren Sellers, President of Sellers expositions.

Beginning at 8 p.m. each evening, GIE+expO will present a free concert at Fourth Street Live! Entertainers include:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 16 – The Louisville Crashers
  • Wednesday, Oct. 18 – Colt Ford with opener Kelleigh Bannen
  • Thursday, Oct. 19 – Jan Kramer with opener Mackenzie Porter

GIE+expO is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), and the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS). HNA is produced by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and endorsed by the Brick Industry Association and National Concrete Masonry Association.
