Get “Derby ready” with Kentucky Derby Museum’s Big Brims and Fancy Trims Annual Hat Sample Sale
Sip some wine, get style tips and shop for your perfect Derby hat on Thursday, April 7th
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 9, 2016) – Kentucky Derby 142 is fast approaching and it’s time to start thinking all about hats! Get “Derby Ready” with Big Brims and Fancy Trims, the Kentucky Derby Museum’s annual Hat Sample Sale on Thursday, April 7th.
Over 200 sample hats will be available, with no sample hat priced over $75.00 and many as low as $29.99. The Kentucky Derby Museum’s 2016 Hat Collection will also be available. Guests can choose from many custom hats and fascinators that are exclusively available at the Museum.
“We see Big Brims and Fancy Trims becoming a signature Derby kick-off event, a go-to source for hat shopping year after year,” Katie Stephenson, Director of Retail Operations said.
The sale runs from 5-7 p.m. but an Early Bird ticket gets you in the door at 4 p.m., an hour before regular ticket shoppers, giving you the best selection of hats. Early Bird Tickets are $15 each and only 50 are available. Regular admission tickets are $10 and give shoppers entry at 5 p.m. through the rest of the event.
Ticket includes two complimentary glasses of wine from 14 Hands Wines. A cash bar will also be available. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, sweets from Cellar Door Chocolates and listen to music from a live DJ while you shop! Today’s Woman Stylist Alissa Hicks will be on hand to help shopper’s select their most flattering hat. Stylists from Primp Salon will give hair and hat styling tips. Complete your ensemble with clothes from Blush Boutique, Talbots and more!
