11 SEASONS OF CUSTOM HOT-PINK LOUISVILLE SLUGGER® WOOD BATS
Louisville, Ky., – Hundreds of Major League Baseball players are grabbing hot-pink Louisville Slugger bats this Mother’s day to continue their support in the fight against breast cancer.
Louisville Slugger and MLB joined forces in 2006 to create the “Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer” initiative, and they’ve been swinging pink bats ever since. More than 3,000 custom hot-pink bats valued at about $300,000 have been donated to the program.
Like years past, the bats will be collected after the games and auctioned on mlb.com with the net proceeds going to MLB Charities in support of the fight against breast cancer. Funds from the public sales of the bats at sluggercustombats.com are also donated to the charity organization. Fans can add a name or special message to create a personalized, one-of-a-kind bat. Each custom hot-pink bat will feature the MLB breast-cancer-ribbon logo. These bats sell for $59.95 with $10 of each sale allocated for the charity.
