‘86 Addiction’ by eating out Wednesday and helping The Healing Place
by Steve Coomes
Dozens of local restaurants will team up with The Healing Place to “86 Addiction” in our community by donating 10 percent of their July 13 sales proceeds to help men and women struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
In addition to raising money for The Healing Place’s nationally recognized recovery program, restaurant partners will be raising awareness about the problem of addiction in the restaurant industry itself, as well as the services provided by The Healing Place. (Recent podcast interviewee chef Griffin Paulin touted The Healing Place’s work with local industry employees.)
According to a news release from The Healing Place, addiction does not discriminate and affects every family, business and civic arm of our community. We believe the best way to improve our community is to provide solutions to for those engaged in the battle. Funds donated by these generous restaurateurs go a long way to helping out. We encourage you to dine at this participating establishments Wednesday.
