Bourbon Mixer will Offer Unique Bourbon Cocktails and Treats
Louisville, Kentucky (July 21, 2016) – Thirteen bourbon distilleries are pulling out all the stops to showcase their bourbons at the upcoming Bourbon Mixer, a fundraiser for the Coalition for the Homeless hosted by the Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood.
In addition to having the opportunity to sample 20 different kinds of bourbon, attendees will also enjoy specialty bourbon cocktails and bourbon treats. Maker’s Mark is partnering with The Comfy Cow to create two one-of-a-kind bourbon floats using their premium salted caramel ice cream and their grapefruit sorbet.

The Gold Rush
– 1.5 oz. Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
– 1.5 oz. Domaine de Canton
– .5 oz. Lemon Juice
– .75 oz. Ginger ale
Franklin Old Fashioned
– 2 oz. Angel’s Envy Bourbon finished in Port Wine Barrels
– 1/2 oz. pure Maple Syrup
– 2 dashes black walnut bitters
– 2 dashes black cherry bitters
The event will also feature live music by local favorite Tanita Gaines, a silent auction with one-of-a-kind bourbon experiences and rare bottles of whiskey, and upscale southern cuisine prepared by Jarfi’s. Menu items include Kentucky Hot Brown bites, assorted deviled eggs, grilled lamb chops and country ham with Benedictine.
Participating distilleries including Coopers’ Craft, Rabbit Hole, Angels Envy, Buffalo Trace, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, Evan Williams, Four Roses, Jim Beam, Jefferson’s Reserve, Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, and Bulleit Distillery.
The 3rd Annual Bourbon Mixer will be held at The Gillespie at 6:30pm on Saturday, August 13, and all proceeds will benefit Rx: Housing Veterans, a Coalition for the Homeless programtargeted specifically toward assisting Louisville‘s homeless veterans. Bourbon Brotherhood is a men’s group that meets monthly to enjoy Bourbon and camaraderie. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at various locations.
