LouisvilleKY’s Studio 2000 Art Exhibit and Sale Features Young Artists

Event to be held Thursday, Aug. 4th at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts 

Louisville, Ky., – An eight-week youth visual art ‘learn and earn’ program, Studio 2000, concludes with an art sale and exhibit from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, at the Kentucky Center For Performing Arts Main Lobby, 501 West Main Street.

The art sale will feature student works represented in clay, mixed media and fiber, with all proceeds from the sale going to support Studio 2000. Payment can be made by cash, checks and credit card, and a reception is also planned for the event.

Studio 2000 is a competitive visual art program offered at Shawnee Arts & Cultural Center in partnership with Louisville Visual Art. It currently employs 19 high school students, participating in the 8 week program.

Students learn from and work with professional artists Ehren Reed, JD Schull and Simon Gallo.  Sale items will include works in clay, fiber and mixed media.

The program is offered at the Shawnee Art and Cultural Center, 607 S. 37th Street, and is supported by the Louisville Visual Art Association.
