Abbey Road on the River Announces 2018 Headliners to entertain LouisvilleKY and southern Indiana

Jeffersonville, IN  – The WAVE 3 News Abbey Road on the River, the world’s largest Beatles inspired music festival, will return to downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-28, 2018. Festival organizers are pleased to announce that Grammy-winning rock group America, the fathers of psychedelic rock Vanilla Fudge, and The Beatles’ primary recording sound engineer Geoff Emerick will headline the 2018 event.
The Grammy-winning band America will take the stage on Saturday, May 26th to perform their soft rock hits like “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” and “Sister Golden Hair.” Like The Beatles, America found great success in working with producer George Martin and recording engineer Geoff Emerick, who were both extremely influential in developing the band’s sound during the mid-late 1970’s.

The Beatles’ audio engineer and four time Grammy-winner Geoff Emerick will give special presentations throughout the festival, addressing the creative process of the band in the studio and how he achieved the sounds on their most famous songs. At the age of nineteen, Geoff Emerick became the Beatles’ chief audio engineer and is the man responsible for their distinctive sound on the classic album Revolver, in which they pioneered innovative recording techniques that changed the course of rock history. Emerick would also engineer the monumental Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road albums, considered by many the greatest rock recordings of all time.
The 2018 festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of The White Album with several special concerts and presentations. The White Album, released on November 22, 1968, was mostly written in India while the band was studying meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The creative, wide-ranging double album is considered by many to be The Beatles most quintessential rock album. Plans to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Hey Jude” with a very special ensemble show are also underway.
For the 2nd year, the WAVE 3 News Abbey Road on the River will be held at the Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, Indiana. More than 50 bands from around the world will perform on eight indoor and outdoor stages over the course of the five-day event. More information can be found online at
