After 100 Rusty’s, We Had a Party

On Friday, Loui Loui’s Authentic Detroit-Style Pizza played host to the 100th episode party for the Rusty Satellite Show.

And a lot of the most interesting people in the ‘Ville, and those who have helped the weekly podcast grow and prosper, were there as well. Thanks to Jason Smith (Rusty’s logo creator and web designer), there was a great 4-minute movie featuring most, but not all, of the 200 or so guests that have been on the show. We showed it on Loui Loui’s big screen, to the Rusty theme song — Paul Thorn’s “What the Hell is Goin’ On. Jeff Rehmet provided some great live music, including a little bit of Otis Redding’s “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay.”

Thanks to RS guest #1, Mark Hebert, for a nice intro. We had representatives of show sponsors in attendance — Michael Rabkin of Passport Health Plan, Mary Kay Hitchings of Snelling Staffing and of course Loui Loui’s owner Mike Spurlock. Madelaine Ruggles, who designed some Rusty banners, was there. And extraordinary guest-getter Caroline Knop was great. Unofficial LouisvilleKY.com and Rusty photographer Bill Brymer took these great shots.

A lot of interesting guests from the show dropped in, so here’s a list (in no particular order) — Mark Hitchings, Wayne Estopinal, John Cosby, Mollie Yunker, Tisha Gainey, Dawn Yankeelov, John Nation, John Gilderbloom, Lori Cheek, Kat Gentner, Lenny Mello, Stacey Servo and my favorite — Paula Presley.

Now that all that’s over, it’s time for the show to go on, so tune in Thursday to the Rusty Satellite Show to see who this week’s Most Interesting People in the ‘Ville are.
