KENTUCKIANA IDOL COMES TO FOURTH STREET LIVE! HOLDING ONE SILVER TICKET
WHAS11 and Fourth Street Live! are teaming up to find the best singers in Kentuckiana in hopes of getting them to the American Idol stage
Louisville, KY (July 28, 2017) – To the dreamers wishing to grace the American Idol stage, they now have the chance to make it a reality.
It all starts on August 5, 2017 at Fourth Street Live!. WHAS11 and Fourth Street Live! will hold auditions to select the top five Kentuckiana singers. A panel of judges will select four contestants who sing to impress and award each with tickets to skip to the head of the line when the American Idol Bus Tour auditions come to Louisville on August 30. One lucky and talented finalist will be named “Kentuckiana Idol” and win a “Silver Ticket” that will send them directly to the 2nd round of the American Idol auditions.
American Idol was on air for 15 years, but has recently been on a two-year hiatus. Now switching from TV network FOX to ABC (WHAS in Louisville), it is now coming back in full swing with new contestants and judges (including Katy Perry).
“We are excited to offer talented local singers a chance to get one step closer to their Idol dreams with this Kentuckiana Idol contest!” said Linda Danna, President and General Manager of WHAS11. “American Idol is an institution, and we are thrilled to add it to WHAS11’s spring programming, and to welcome the bus tour auditions to Louisville next month.”
In order to audition for Kentuckiana Idol, you must be between the ages of 15 and 28, a legal US resident, live in the WHAS11 viewing area, and available to attend the American Idol Bus Tour auditions on August 30, 2017 in Louisville, KY.

Registration: 11:00am-1:00pm at Fourth Street Live! (under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
Auditions: 1:00pm-5:45pm
Winner Announced: Live on WHAS News at 6:30pm
