As a preparatory note, we speak today of Angio’s Italian Restaurant in Jeffersontown, not Angilo’s Pizza and Hoagies on Berry Boulevard, a distinction that briefly eluded me as I frantically searched for a pair of misplaced reading glasses.
There’s a big difference in a single letter “l,” and Angilo’s is still very much with us.
And so, today’s news: Angio’s Italian Restaurant (1915 Blankenbaker Parkway, Jeffersontown) took to Facebook last week to announce its immediate closure after almost three decades.

This is the most difficult post I’ve had to make and it’s being done with the heaviest of hearts and tear filled eyes. Angio’s is closed permanently. Due to the rising cost of labor and product we’ve determined that it’s no longer sustainable. We want to thank everyone for their support over the past 25+ years in Hikes Point, Buechel, J-town and the entire city of Louisville.
