Baxter Avenue Filmworks‘ Friday premiere of the independent film ‘Another Earth‘ is set to benefit from some added star power with a post-screening Q&A from actor William Mapother. The Louisville native and cousin to actor Tom Cruise will be taking questions after the 7:40pm screening of the film, both Friday and Saturday nights (Aug 19-20th).
Since it’s debut at the 27th Sundance Film Festival in January 2011, about which trade magazine Variety reported, “[It] has been deemed one of the more highly praised pics of the fest as it received a standing ovation after the screening and strong word of mouth from buyers and festgoers,” ‘Another Earth has been picked up by Fox Searchlight Pictures and has been slowly making its way across the country to continued critical acclaim. The film premiered previously in Louisville at the Louisville Film Society‘s 3rd annual Flyover Film Festival, but the screenings at Baxter Avenue will mark its first full release in the city.
