Trivia-minded New Albanians, take note.
In 2010, Connor’s Place closed at 134 E Market St. It was succeeded shortly thereafter by the Italian eatery La Bocca, which changed its name to Bella Roma in 2014, with a few alterations, but the same owner.
Almost 12 years later, it’s time for the next incarnation of Bella Roma, which soon will relocate to 117 E. Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville, six miles to the east.
And, catching up to news I previously (and completely) missed, Bella Roma is able to make 117 E. Riverside Dr. its new home because Game on the River closed there in December.
Got it?
As for the timing of the move, Bella Roma must be clear of its current space within the next two weeks. It has only a slight social media presence, so questions and inquiries about the reopening might best be directed to one’s phone: (812) 542-5152.
Meanwhile, following is Game on the River’s announcement from December. I feel doubly bad having failed to note owner Tim Lewis’s passing in October. Rest in peace, and belated condolences.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Game in the River will be closing its doors permanently. Our last day of service will be Saturday, December 13th.
Our journey of 2 wonderful years is coming to an end due to the unfortunate death of owner Tim Lewis.
We’ve loved serving you, the community and creating memories together. We are so grateful to everyone who shared meals, celebrated special moments, and became part of our story. We look forward to having you stop by on last time, enjoy a favorite dish, share your memories, and see our amazing staff that made this place so special.
Thank you for helping Tim realize his dream. It is our goal to continue his legacy by continuing to operate the Lexington Road location. The family feels this is best during these challenging times.
With deepest gratitude,
Game on the River Team and the Lewis Family
