Bike/Walk Grants Awarded

Share the road plate
Plates fund Share The Road education.

You see “SHARE THE ROAD” license plates all the time. Maybe you own one of the plates. Or perhaps you think roads are just for cars and trucks – the bigger the better.

If you’re in that last category, we need to talk about getting you some education. Which brings me right back to those nifty “SHARE THE ROAD” plates.

The woman who came up with the idea for “SHARE THE ROAD” license plates was Paula Nye. She was Kentucky’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator from 2000 to 2005. When you buy one of those colorful plates, some of the money goes into a fund. It’s the Paula Nye Memorial Bicyclist and Pedestrian Education fund.
