In January of 2025, we charted the evolution at Fresno Tea, which changed hands and identities to emerge as Boba Bun Cafe.
Fresco Tea Bar has a new owner, to become Boba Bun
(Actually, certain little things drive your correspondent utterly bonkers; to google the establishment in question is to receive hits for at least three different configurations of the name: Boba Bun, Boba-Bun and BobaBun, although the latter seems to be preferred, so I’ll go with it.)
Yesterday BobaBun took to social media to announce a revamp.
A little bittersweet news from the BobaBun family…
Our New Albany location will be serving its last boba on April 26th. Our lease is ending, and we’ve made the decision to close our operation — so we want to make these last weeks count!
This spot has been something special — 3 years of community, connection, and good drinks, first as Fresco Tea Bar and since early 2025 as our BobaBun home. We are so incredibly grateful for every single one of you who walked through that door.
But don’t worry — we’re not going anywhere!

For the sake of clarification, the BobaBun location soon to cease is at 2441 State St., by the I-265 interchange.
