It seems the ranks are thinning. Reporting at Louisville Business First, Joel Stinnett finds Bristol Bar & Grille preparing to close its downtown location following a final service on Sunday, May 24, citing lease renewal issues as well as declining lunchtime trade.
This Bristol debuted at 614 W. Main in April of 2003, succeeding the nearby Bristol outlet that departed the Kentucky Center for the Arts in June of 2001 after 17 years.
According to Stinnett, as befits the Bristol’s longtime downtown presence, management hopes to relocate to a space nearby that’s “already set up for a restaurant tenant.”
Until then, the only public Bristol left standing is Bristol East at 300 North Hurstbourne Parkway; the catering operation also continues.
