Originally scheduled for a few weeks ago, the weather had other ideas for the annual Taste of 502 event at the Hyatt Regency downtown.
But with temperatures above freezing, restaurateurs showed up for the rescheduled event March 2. Several restaurants offered up small bites at the event. Even more prevalent were companies offering up drink samples. No one went thirsty.
I think I tried some Fuzzy Vodka first, moved on to a Shock Top brew, American Honey bourbon, Four Roses — but remember they were all little bitty tastes. Topped off with an Ale-8-1. Paula liked a new wine she discovered from the Horseshoe Bend Winery.
The party was part of 502 Restaurant Week, a local promotion that continues through March 4 at some of the area’s finest restaurants.
