Dawn at the Downs Draws Crowds to See Contenders Close up in Louisville

A lively crowd of media and spectators gathered to watch Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks hopefuls go through their workouts on Wednesday morning.

Among the trainers keeping a close eye on their Derby contenders were three-time Derby winning trainer Bob Baffert (Dortmund, American Pharoah, ) and seven-time Eclipse Award Trainer of the Year Todd Pletcher (Carpe Diem, Materiality, Stanford, and Itsaknockout).

Dawn at the Downs is an increasingly popular event for locals and out-of-towners, and the best chance to see and hear the Horses, and their connections, up close. Of course, you have to get up early to go.
