Super Bowl MVP and former Louisville standout Deion Branch spent the day in Louisville today. This morning he was at FASTSIGNS Louisville on Fern Valley Rd. signing autographs and greeting fans. Branch spent over an hour signing photos, footballs and taking pictures with everyone in the crowd. FASTSIGNS Louisville is one of the sponsors of Branch’s summer skills camps that benefit the Deion Branch Foundation. The foundation actively supports organizations committed to assisting meningitis victims, particularly infected children. After leaving FASTSIGNS, Branch went to the Home of The Innocents to host a lunch and show his support for the work they do.
As the morning event wrapped up, I had a chance to talk to Deion about the upcoming season and his thoughts on the lockout. He believes that the lockout will end before the beginning of the season but he doubts there will be any summer camps for teams and the pre-season is probably not going to happen. He says players are working out on their own in case there is no summer camp, but there is now substitute for the two-a-day workouts you get at camp. He also said he felt bad for the guys like former Louisville Cardinal and Free Agent Michael Bush who weren’t able to lock in a contract.
Branch is a genuine good guy. He was willing to sign anything the fans brought and stayed around until all the fans got their photos. He really seems to be at home with the Patriots and says he is looking forward to another trip to the Super Bowl.
