Fischer Spreads Silver Tsunami News

This morning Mayor Greg Fischer came out to Jeffersontown to participate in the ribbon-cutting for an affordable housing complex for seniors, and had another opportunity to speak about his “silver tsunami.” That’s Fischer’s pet phrase he uses every time he has an opportunity to talk about efforts to attract businesses taking care of our aging population.

The Brookstone Senior complex, just behind the Stonybrook Cinemas, is an $8 million project which will have 56 units renting at $605 per month. It’s expected to open in December, and already has at least one person signed up.  The bulk of the financing is coming from tax credits provided by the Kentucky Housing Corporation.

Fischer made a funny, too, talking about the giant hammer and pencil on the construction site.
