Fizzy, we hardly knew ye

Fizz District, why did ye skedaddle from me and the child?

For the record, the text.

We are sad to announce that Fizz District is now closed permanently. Thank you for welcoming us into your lives. We’re grateful for every visit, every smile, and every sip we shared. #fizzdistrict #fizzdistrictlouisville #fizzydee

Fizz District opened in March at 3130 Frankfort Avenue. It is not to be confused with Fiiz Drinks, “the nation’s largest and fastest-growing specialty soda and snack shop franchise.”

For our restaurant guide, I sought to capture the essence of Fizz District, without having consumed a “dirty soda” or viewed so much as a single episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Down with cans; up with real ingredients. This shop is dedicated to the proposition that old-school soda fountains had it right, only to see fresh hand-made sodas subverted by the soft drink monoliths. Along with a multitude of “craft” soda pop, you’ll find fruit seltzers, zero proof cocktails, breakfast bites, snacks and sweets.

A doleful damsel I heard cry, Fizzy I hardly knew ye.
