His band having just been announced as the festival headliners, the Louisville-native and decadently-bearded My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James joked of the this summer’s 10th annual Forecastle Music Festival a few weeks back that the theme would be, “Christmas in July”. And yet Christmas came even earlier than promised, on ‘Leap Day’ to be precise, with the full festival lineup dropping this morning and possibly delivering even more sonic-madness that we ever dared dream. expected to bring 30,000 patrons to Waterfront Park over a three-day tour-de-jams (July 13-15), it turns out the real theme of Forecastle X is ‘good music, and only good music’.
A ridiculously diverse lineup, boasting 70+ bands across five stages, My Morning Jacket (and all of us by extension) will find themselves jamming alongside some scary-good company. Whether it be the alt-folk-americana sounds of veteran acts like Wilco, Andrew and Neko Case, or perhaps the bevy of skinny-jean-sporting indie-darlings, including Beech House, Real Estate and Washed Out, Forecastle X has more than enough to keep your eardrums reeling. But throw in the skull-reverberating tunes of BassNectar, Girl Talk and Sleigh Bells, alongside Kentucky favorites Ben Sollee and Wax Fang? Well that’s not even fair.
What follows is the full lineup as it stands, with even more artists as well as various art and sustainability festivities to be announced in the coming days:

Only the second collaboration between Forecastle architect JK McKnight and AC Entertainment (after last summer’s ‘Halfway to Forecastle), this is a partnership that keeps on giving.
