Going Green Gets Louisville More Attention

Coming to a postmark in the 40202

Here’s another coup for the Green Building on Market Street.

On Thursday morning, representatives from the U.S. Post Office and Council members David Tandy and Tina Ward-Pugh will be for the unveiling of a set of 16 new postage stamps. It’s one of only two press conference in the country tomorrow announcing the new stamps, which offer up “green” tips. Among them — riding bikes, planting trees and fixing water leaks.

But the big news for the Green Building is it’s getting a 1st-day cancellation stamp in honor of the Green Building. The cancellation stamp will be placed on all mail postmarked tomorrow in the 40202 zip code. I’m told it’s a really big deal among the philatelic set.

Now, I can’t think of anything to mail tomorrow, but glad to hear the Green Building getting such a big honor.
