I’m passing along some great news from The Healing Place:
Louisville, KY (January 31, 2012) — The Healing Place, a nationally recognized drug and alcohol recovery program, will receive an $800,000 Kresge Grant after meeting $1.2 million donation requirement. The Kresge closing grant will complete funding for the women and children’s campus which opened in 2010.
You are invited to a Victory Reception on Thursday, February 2 from 3:00-6:00 pm to celebrate the completion of Kresge Grant which is Phase 1 of the current Partners for Hope Initiative. A special presentation will be made at 5:00 pm by Jay Davidson, President and CEO of The Healing Place.
In 2011, The Healing Place recovery program and homeless shelter provided services for record numbers of people, requiring the organization to institute a prioritization for services. This demand for the services far outpaced the ability to raise funds through traditional methods. Securing the Kresge Grant was the initial goal of the $5 Million Partners for Hope Initiative.
Brown-Forman, Texas Roadhouse, The Humana Foundation and the Greater Louisville Medical Society have taken a corporate leadership role in the Partners for Hope Initiative which helped complete the Kresge Grant and will move The Healing Place forward to reach the remaining $2.5 million of the initiative. Phase 2 focuses on supporting day-to-day operations as well as expanding services in Kentucky and surrounding areas to meet the demand.
