
Jackie Hays, the former WAVE 3 anchor who retired from broadcasting two years ago, heads a list of six who will be inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in April.
Hays now has a job in P.R. at Norton Healthcare. She spent 22 years in total at WAVE and 32 years on TV, including a stint at WHAS-TV. She won a boatload of awards during her journalism career.
Another familiar name on the list is Frankfort bureau chief for the C-J, Tom Loftus. he’s been a regular guest on KET’s Comment on Kentucky with retired Paducah legislative reporter Bill Bartleman, who is on the list. Some of you may remember Ed Shadburne, a GM at WLKY-TV and WHAS. Other inductees are Robert Carter, retired publisher of the Kentucky New Era of Hopkinsville, and the late Albert Dix former publisher of The State-Journal of Frankfort.
The Hall of Fame, located at UK, has inducted 172 journalists since its inception in 1981.
