At first glance, Louisville Business First’s social media post revealed little: Pan-Asian restaurant chain acquires Brownsboro Road space.
But the article’s subheader clarifies matters: “Elizabethtown, Kentucky-based Wasabi is taking over the Hen House Café & Provisions space at 4864 Brownsboro Road.”
As always, Michael L. Jones has just the facts, ma’am.
The restaurant space at 4864 Brownsboro Road, formerly home to Anoosh Bistro, is preparing for its third name and concept change in less than two years.
David Danielson bought Anoosh Bistro and transformed it into äta, then pivoted to Hen House Cafe & Provisions, the latter coming in response to factors beyond Danielson’s (anyone’s?) control.
Danielson told Louisville Business First that extensive construction tied to the new Louisville Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the I-264/U.S. 42 Interchange Improvement Project significantly reduced customer traffic along Brownsboro Road.
Automobile-centrism gives, and it just as readily takes away.
Danielson has sold the business to Wasabi, a Pan-Asian restaurant group currently operating two locations in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Wasabi co-owner Dylan Lin said the company plans to open its first Louisville location in the Brownsboro Road space later this summer.
Just imagine if we had a subway. Interestingly, Wasabi’s owner Lin told Jones that “he and his partners are not concerned about ongoing construction in the area.”
It remains that the access situation has been far from optimum, with Brownsboro Hardware & Paint in Brownsboro Center spearheading a campaign to make consumers aware of alternative routes.
Oddly, the coverage I saw about this story omitted when/if Hen House actually was closed for good. I tried phoning last week to no avail, so I’m guessing it is no more.
