If Rick Redding’s Little Bo Peep, I’m quickly becoming one of his sheep. After writing under his tutelage at another online organization he’s enticed me to come back for more. I am pretty sure it’s the large paycheck that lured me. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Abby Miller, the former WLKY Morning Show Anchor. I was proud to be a member of a fabulous morning show team that netted the only First Place distinction in that time slot in the station’s history. It’s a feat that’s not been repeated since I left in September 2008. I’ve been blessed to be contacted on facebook by a lot of fans who watched me for nearly a decade on WLKY and I’m flattered by anyone who says they “remember me when.”
My life’s changed significantly since my days in television. After being demoted to weekend mornings, I opted to leave WLKY. My husband works in Cincinnati, and I only see my step kids on the weekends, so working the weekends was untenable, not to mention it wasn’t what I was assured of when I signed a new contract with WLKY just a few months before. It was the hardest decision i’ve ever made. But in retrospect, it was the only option available to me and while I miss television, I’ve turned down offers to go back.
Just 2 months after I left WLKY I found out I was pregnant….something my husband and I had been trying for for several years. Shortly thereafter my husband and I found out we were having twins. TWINS! July 13, 2009 I gave birth to Luke and Max, the joys of my life. The boys are now 18 months old and I am a full-time mom. The boys’ antics provide me with daily material for the blogosphere. I have my own blogging site and now I’m here as well. I plan to bug our fearless leader Rick to provide a “Family” category on this site, as the current options don’t provide a good fit for my posts.
I hope you’ll check in with me, read my posts, and provide feedback. If there’s a topic on family life you’d like addressed, let me know and I will do my best.
