Louisville Business First’s Zak Owens reports that “a simple sign on the door announced (Bakersfield’s) closure Thursday.” The restaurant, located in the ground floor space at 1064 Bardstown Rd. — formerly HopCat Louisville — opened on Sept. 12, 2023…a year to the day of its closing.
Highlands restaurant Bakersfield closes after one year in business
In a message to Louisville Business First, restaurant management confirmed the closure was permanent. They did not provide a reason for the closure.
Bakersfield is owned by Cincinnati-based Thunderdome Restaurant Group. The company operates several other franchises in Louisville, including The Eagle and Currito.
Last year we reported Bakersfield employed 50 to 75 people. It’s unclear if they’re being offered jobs at other Thunderdome operations in town.
