Louisville, Ky., – For those who love bourbon, it’s Christmas in September, rather Bourbon Heritage Month for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Several tourism departments have several events, tips and advice on how to properly mark this special month. We list a couple for you:

From www.gotolouisville.com:

Bourbon Heritage Month is an ideal time to celebrate America’s only native spirit in the heart of the region where 95% of the special whiskey is made – Kentucky.  Special dinners and events are being held throughout Bourbon Country, including the Kentucky Bourbon Festival later this month in Bardstown, KY.  Here are some ways to celebrate in Louisville:

3.EAT –  Breakfast, lunch or dinner can be enjoyed with bourbon.  From the President’s Breakfast at Dish on Market to treats like the Bourbon Ball Ice cream at Comfy Cow, ideas abound at www.culinarylouisville.com along with a list of bourbon dinners.

This month is packed with tons of special events and special bottle releases, and we will do our best to keep you informed on all of it.

Kicking things off this weekend is the 3rd Ever Kentucky State BBQ Festival in Danville, a new Official Sponsor of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.  Amidst the pulled-pork, brisket, and smoked chickens from America’s top pitmasters, we will be pouring tastes of Kentucky’s finest Bourbons and spirits.  Look for us in the historic Grayson’s Tavern, built circa 1785, at Constitution Square Historic Site.  We will have brands from all the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® distilleries, including offerings from some distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour™.  Click here for more on the Festival and the Bourbon Tavern.

Quickly following the Kentucky State BBQ Festival is another landmark event for the Bourbon lover: Bardstown‘s Kentucky Bourbon Festival.  Running from September 17-22nd, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival features something for everyone and demonstrates why Bardstown truly is the Bourbon Capital of the World.  We will be working two of the major events: theKentucky Bourbon All-Star Sampler and the “Loqui Facilis” event.  Hope to see everyone at our booth on the ‘lawn’ or at any of the fantastic events in Bardstown, Official Trailhead of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.
