Have we heard the last of Judy Green?
The embattled Metro Councilwoman, a day after declaring she wouldn’t resign on the eve of her removal hearing, delivered a brief letter to the Clerk’s office just before Noon, as reported by the C-J:
Effective immediately, I do hereby resign from my position as Metro Councilperson from District One Metro Louisville. It has been my privilege to represent the residents of District One.
Once the resignation is official, it will be up to the rest of the Council to fill her seat until the next election, scheduled for 2014. And yes, Green will be eligible to run again, and yes, she’s likely to do so, and win. We’ll see. But for now Green’s attempts to keep her seat (and her salary) appear finished.
