Julie Smith’s time in L.A. (Louisville area) is done and the former reality show star is headed to the real L.A. (Los Angeles) to pursue a career in entertainment.
As reported by WHAS-TV’s Claudia Coffey, Smith is taking a big risk in order to make it show business.
“I’m hoping to shop my reel in LA and land a talent agent. From there the idea is that they are able to connect me with the right decision makers and ultimately help me to find my way into the news and entertainment talk circuit,” she said in an interview.
When locals first met Smith in 2009 as part of the cast of the SoapNet reality series Southern Belles, she was a mid-30s single trying to create a modeling career for herself. Later she became a co-host on The CW’s Louisville Live morning show for a year, and in January became one of four hosts of a weekly local progrm, “View from the ‘Ville” on WKYI-TV, channel 38 on Insight. WHAS-TV’s Adrianna Hopkins is also a co-host on that show.
The airs Saturdays at 4:30.
Smith has been a fixture on the charity event circuit as well.
Let’s hope she makes it. She leaves at the end of June.
