Louisville, Ky., – Soul and R&B legend Aretha Franklin will perform at the Kentucky State Fair on the Freedom Hall Stage on August 30, the final day of the 11-day event. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
Known as the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has had 20 NO. 1 Billboard R&B hits, was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2012 was inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Some of her classic hits include “Respect,” “Freeway of Love” and “A Natural Woman.” This will be Aretha’s first performance in Louisville since 2005.
“We are excited to welcome Miss Aretha Franklin to this year’s Kentucky State Fair.” said Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, President and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board. “She brings great energy and variety to our Main Stage Concert Series.”
Tickets for An Evening with Aretha Franklin are $50 and $55 each and includes Kentucky State Fair gate admission. There will also be VIP tables of 8 available for $500 per table. Tickets go on sale Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m.
