Jason and Aenith McCollom have shared that following service on Saturday (Feb. 28), they’ll be calling it quits at Chik’n & Mi, which is located at 1765 Mellwood Ave. in Butchertown.
Nine years is impressive longevity for independent operators, and whatever one’s view of dollars and cents, it cannot be argued that current economic conditions are favoring the McCollums and their food service brethren. In an economy where restaurant owners are hanging on by their fingernails, the situation is likely to worsen amid the verbiage of political partisanship and self-interest.
Say “so long” to Chik’n & Mi, now through Saturday.

It is with a heavy heart and deep reflection that we are writing to share that Chik’n & Mi will be permanently closing our doors this Saturday, February 28th 2026.
Thank you Louisville for standing with us over the past 9 Years! Serving you has been one of the greatest pleasures of our careers! Please come by and spend some time with us this week. Our last day will be an all-day dinner service this Saturday from 11am-10pm. We would love a chance to say goodbye.
