LIBA Kicks Off LouisvilleKY’s “West On Wednesdays” on April 17th

Louisville, KY – Our city is well known for its diverse local food culture, and West Louisville continues to offer up options that add to the vibrant scene. If Louisvillians haven’t had an opportunity to enjoy a great meal in the area yet, they will have an opportunity through an upcoming event series that gives attendees a reason to dine at three unique restaurants.

The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA), an organization of 900 local and independent business members, will host the first West on Wednesday event on Wednesday, April 17 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Farm To Fork, 2425 Portland Avenue. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to purchase dinner and cocktails and enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful Portland neighborhood. RSVPs are encouraged at www.keeplouisvilleweird.com/WestOnWednesday. Farm To Fork specializes in locally-sourced ingredients and warm Southern hospitality. They’ll be offering a signature drink for the night and other specials like $1 off Against the Grain beers and Hayes Ranch wines.
West on Wednesday
The next two events will be held at Lucretia’s Kitchen on May 29th and Mattie’s Kitchen on June 19th, with more restaurants in the works.
“The West on Wednesday event series will shine a spotlight on great local and independent restaurants in West Louisville,” says Jennifer Rubenstein, Executive Director of LIBA. “Each event is an opportunity for our community to collectively support West Louisville entrepreneurs and strengthen the local economy by keeping our dollars circulating locally.”
Making a shift in our purchasing habits can have big effects on our local economy, keeping more dollars circulating locally. A market shift of just 10% to local independent businesses would retain an additional $416 million in our regional economy, which helps all of Louisville businesses.
