Lots of Louisville Ky activities to keep kids busy next week

Louisville, KY., – From basketball skills challenges to baking classes, Louisville youth and parents have plenty of options to stay engaged and active during Spring Break.

Spring Break in Louisville is April 4-8. Young people will be able to learn new skills, enjoy the great outdoors, make skateboards into art at a library, and much more. The many options are brought to you through Louisville Metro agencies and other organizations.

Here are some examples:

Metro Parks & Recreation will have several programs for outdoor and indoor fun. The options range from the Eco Extreme camp at Jefferson Memorial Park to cooking classes at community centers. Find more information here.

The Louisville Free Public Library system always has events happening at branches throughout the city. During Spring Break week, the library’s many offerings include family crafts and a Spring Break movie night for teenagers.  Find more information here.

Young people can also develop a creative project for a competition hosted by the Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods’ One Love Louisville initiative.  The office is challenging young people to send creative project ideas that seek to reduce youth violence in Louisville. Here’s more information on the Youth Idea Challenge. The office will also have tables from 5-8 p.m. on April 2, 3 and 9 at Waterfront Park. Young people will be able to get information about programs, jobs and other ways to engage in the community.

Jefferson County Public Schools will host Spring Break camps throughout Louisville. The camps focus on activities ranging from robotics to yoga to culinary arts. Here’s more information from JCPS.
