Louisville native Pamela Mattei of DyeSigns By Pamela, Inc. will be competing for Facebook “likes” on national magazine The Crafts Report’s Facebook page starting June 26th. This semi-finalist contest pits artists across the United States in hopes of winning a feature on the cover of The Crafts Report. From June 26th, 10 a.m. – June 27th 10 a.m. visit www.facebook.com/CraftsReport to vote for your favorite artist.
Pamela won the first round of competition by a narrow fifty-three vote margin and asks for the community’s help in order to advance and represent Louisville in the finals.
“Being selected as a quarter-finalist was an honor. Campaigning and winning my heat in the first round was exciting and nerve-racking! I only got three hours of sleep that night. Who can sleep at a time like that? I held the lead all day, but the race was too close for comfort. I had a friend in the competition last year and he was leading most of the day, but lost in the final few hours, so I didn’t want to take my lead for granted. Advancing to the final round would mean huge exposure for my business and finding out I was voted the cover artist is a birthday present money can’t buy!” said Mattei.
Pamela was originally selected as one of 32 quarter finalists from a nationwide search. During the first 24-hour round, she managed to capture 448 votes and the win by the time voting ended against her three other contestants.
The Craft Report’s Cover Contest is now in its second year. The competition will give one lucky artist and his or her craft the exposure it deserves by having it featured on the cover of a nationally recognized and distributed magazine. The winning entry will be featured on the cover of the October 2013 edition of The Crafts Report.
For the second round of competition, the eight daily Quarterfinal Round winners and two additional “Wild Cards” (the two highest overall vote-getters who did not win their daily round of voting) will be divided into two groups of five. Voting for Pamela’s artwork will begin on Wednesday, June 26th at 10 a.m. est. At that time, The Crafts Report will repost the five artist images on their Facebook Timeline at www.facebook.com/CraftsReport or you can search for “The Crafts Report magazine” on Facebook. Find Pamela’s photo entitled “DyeSignEr Wall of Scarves”. Then click “like” on the photo. Only “likes” on The Craft Report’s page count. Voting will only be open for 24 hours and closes on Thursday, June 27th at 10 a.m. est. The image with the most “likes” by 10 a.m. est Thursday advances to the Final 2.
