EMERGENCY SERVICES TO CONDUCT AN ACTIVE SHOOTER EXERCISE
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson to Attend
Louisville, Ky., – Louisville Metro Emergency Services will be conducting a full scale Active Shooter Exercise on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 near Slugger Field between Main & Witherspoon and Preston & Jackson Streets. Again, this will be a drill only with law enforcement and first responder agencies present.
Emergency Services is requesting media presence at Preston & Witherspoon between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to report to the community the preparedness of Louisville Metro Government regarding this type of situation.
We are honored to have the Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, attending the drill to observe. He will be available for a press conference at the Emergency Operations Center Executive Conference Room at 410 South 5th Street at 11:15 a.m. Credentialed media planning to attend at this location must RSVP to jody.duncan@louisvilleky.gov by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, and will need to be at 410 South 5th Street no later than 9:45 a.m. for screening on the date of the exercise.
