April 19, 2016. Louisville, KY.   – Just in time for the 2016 Derby Festival, Drake’s will open a new temporary bar at the Waterfront.  “Drake’s By the River,” will be introduced at Thunder Over Louisville on Saturday, April 23rd, and located inside the Thunder Chow Wagon. The “pop-up” bar will also return for the 9-day run of Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville.  The 30’ x 40’ full service bar is being built by The Event Company in Louisville. In addition to the full bar, they will also serve a special Festival themed drink: Drake’s Thunder Punch.  The Punch features Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Gran Gala, pineapple juice and grenadine.
Drake’s market partner, Mark Thornburg shared, “Our bar combines very different vibes from a laidback lunch spot to an all-out nightclub.  When you come into Drake’s, you can expect exceptional food, a great selection of over 20 craft beers on tap and refreshing cocktails in an atmosphere that invites people to have a lot of fun. We wanted to bring that atmosphere to the river.”
