Louisville Ky’s school system names new communications chief

Louisville, Ky., – Jefferson County Public Schools has a new spokesperson: Allison Martin. According to local news reports, JCPS says Martin will take over January 14, 2016.

Martin has served as chief of staff and communications director for Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, deputy communications director for former Mayor Jerry Abramson and as a reporter/anchor at WLKY.

“Martin is a passionate supporter of public education and a highly experienced communicator who has great familiarity with JCPS, both as a parent and through her work overseeing education communications for the Mayor’s office,” said Superintendent Donna Hargens in a statement. “She is dedicated to reinforcing JCPS’ strong foundation of trust and productive relationships with parents, teachers, partners, volunteers and other members of the community.”

Martin will have an annual salary of $130,792.
