Rick Pitino, coach of the Louisville Cardinals Basketball team announced earlier today (Thursday) that Chane Behanan’s is suspended indefinitely, effectively immediately for a “violation of university and team rules” and “no longer a part of” the program.
When asked if Chane Behanan can come back on the Louisville team?” Rick Pitino announced that It is possible but not probable.
According to sources it was Tom Jurich that made the call on letting Behanango. Of course indefinitely, in Louisville basketball terms may be he can rejoin the team as soon as December.
In typical Rick Pitino style, when pressed as to what the issue(s) are Pitino said “It’s multiple things….”Don’t ask what it is. We’re not going to tell you.”
On the floor, Louisville just lost a player who provided much-needed size inside. Right now, 6-8 forward Montrezl Harrell could be the team’s go-to center.I saw him playing at the Red/White scrummage and he dominated the floor but Behanan’s bulk is (was) a critical part of a Louisville rotation that no longer features big man Gorgui Dieng.
