Louisville Orchestra to present free season preview

Louisville, Ky., – The Louisville Orchestra, led by Teddy Abrams, presents a free Season Preview concert at Iroquois Amphitheater on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 7 p.m. The Louisville Orchestra offers this free public performance to invite community members to sample music from the 2015-2016 Classics Series and Coffee Concert Series.

Music Director Teddy Abrams designed this concert to feature highlights from the 2015-2016 Classics Series sponsored by Brown-Forman and the Coffee Concert Series sponsored by Treyton Oak Towers. Works featured include: Stravinsky’s Russian Dance fromPetrouchka, which will be performed with the Louisville Ballet on March 4 and 5; Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 (“Eroica”) can be heard again on October 23 and 24 when the Louisville Orchestra will also perform a World Premiere; and, Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man deeply influenced the composer’s Symphony No. 3 (“America’s Symphony”), which will be performed during the Festival of American Music on April 8 and 9. Audiences will also enjoy vocal selections from Leonard Bernstein’s Mass featuring baritone Jubilant Sykes.

The Louisville Orchestra staff will be on-site at Iroquois Amphitheater to take orders for single tickets and subscriptions, as well as to share information and answer questions.

Since this is a free concert, tickets will not be necessary for this performance. Seats will be available on a first come basis, so early arrival is encouraged.
