LouisvilleKYMusic Industry Now Has Derby Week Red Carpet Event

Louisville, KY., – Louisville will see it’s first Derby week red carpet event just for music industry professionals aboard the Belle of Louisville from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 2nd, 2017 thanks to Eastwood Records, Genius Loves Company, Redbull, Rose Blade Creative Gardens and Elektra.Tech. The Louisville Muse Cruise is an annual invitation only event for the Louisville music industry to become more connected in order to create stronger industry in Kentucky. Some proceeds will benefit musicians through a partnership with  local non-profit Musician’s Emergency Resource Foundation. Although the event is focused on the Kentucky industry,  there have been some confirmed guests from as far as Indianapolis, Cincinnati,  and Nashville to help facilitate strong connections on a more global scale.

The event features a variety of leaders in the Louisville music industry as guests of honor to lead the way in starting an important discussion to strengthen the music industry in Kentucky.Guests of honor include booking agents and reps for Riverhouse at the Levee, 8 Up, Hard Rock Cafe, Tavern on 4th, and venues in Lexington; Film composers and producers and music video directors seen on Vh1, Mtv, SyFy, Discovery and others; artist, concert and band photographers; record label and studio owners; Live nation; radio personalities; platinum producers and billboard charting artists. To facilitate a discussion with local government about a stronger music industry, Kentucky representative Attica Scott and Louisville council members David James and Brandon Coan will also be in attendance. Invitations were mailed out to invited guests, although anyone can nominate someone for an invitation at the web site or by emailing jessica@geniuislovescompany.org.The attendees will pay a $40 ticket price, which includes catering, one drink ticket, space on the swag table for their marketing materials, a gift bag, and entertainment.

Entertainment will be provided by Jericho Woods, Earl Guthrie and the Boxwine Prophets, John Clay and Brown to the Bone, a UPS corporate band. Kentucky Music Preview will be on site recording interviews for their podcast, and Elektra Wearables technology will be showing off prototypes of their technology that lets you feel the music. Photography will be provided by HHH Photography, and Visual experts Brennan Clark will be capturing the event in 4K with his RED camera. Part of the proceeds will go to form a scholarship for musicians through Musician’s Emergency Resource Foundation (MERF.)

This event is for working musicians, venue owners, record labels, music stores, managers, promoters, agents, music press and people offering services to musicians.
