LouisvilleKY’s Churchill Downs celebrates July 4 with live music and racing

 

Evening Will Celebrate Local Soldiers; Two Stakes Races

Louisville, Ky., –  Break out your red, white and blue attire for the best party in town and celebrate July 4 weekend at “Downs After Dark” presented by Stella Artois and Jack Daniel’s. In addition to 11 thrilling night races, the evening will feature:

 

    • Dancing and live music in the Plaza by local country band Wildwood

 

    • Honor and celebrate four local soldiers with a ceremony in the G.H. Mumm Winners Circle after Race 4

 

    • Thousands of American Flags exhibited by Flags4Vets at Gate 10

  • World War II and present day Army equipment will be available for fans to explore in the Plaza

 

    • Two-year-old Horses take center stage in the Bashford Manor and Debutante Stakes

 

 

It’s all set for Saturday, July 2. Gates open at 5 p.m. – midnight. First race at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at  www.churchilldowns.com; General Admission is $10; Reserved seating starts at $25

  • Winner’s Circle Suites for groups of 18 to 20 are $99 a person and include draft beer, wine small-plate food and racing program
