Louisville, KY., – 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville’s free winter concert series returns! Now in its 5th season, WFPK Winter Wednesday concerts take place once a month, November through February at the Clifton Center.
WFPK Winter Wednesday continues December 14, 2016 and will feature Muddy Magnolias and LOLO. Doors open at 6:30pm. The music will start at approximately 7:30pm.
“Roots-rock uplift is the mission for Muddy Magnolias, the Nashville-based duo of the singers and songwriters…. The women harmonize and take turns pushing one another as they sing about trouble and hope, love and compassion — both personal and public-spirited — as the songs build up until they all but demand singalongs.” — Jon Pareles, The New York Times
“Lynn is drawn to a moody muse. Her songs have roots in Americana, but her somber sentiments make comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell almost inevitable. ” — Salt Lake City Weekly
The concerts are free and open to the public. Preferred seating is available to members of 91.9 WFPK and the Friends of the Clifton Center. Members will receive information via email to reserve their seats prior to the general public.
WFPK Winter Wednesday is sponsored by Commonwealth Bank & Trust, Falls City Beer, Kiel Thomson and Sullivan University. The concert series takes place once a month, November through February, at the Clifton Center located at 2117 Payne Street. The remaining concert dates for this season are January 18 and February 15.
Winter Wednesday also continues WFPK’s long partnership with Yum! Brands Foundation to raise food for Dare to Care. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food items to be collected at the door.
