LouisvilleKY’s zoo offers vets free admission Friday

Louisville, KY., – To honor those who are serving and who have served our country in military service, the Louisville Zoo is offering active and retired military and their dependents FREE general admission on Veterans Day — Friday, November 11. Those wishing to participate must simply have proof of military service (including but not limited to: U.S Uniformed Services ID Card, U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID Card, current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), veterans organization card (i.e., American Legion, VFW), photograph in uniform, wearing uniform, DD214 and citation or commendation) and present it at the Zoo’s admission windows.

Military families will also receive 50 percent off food and beverage concessions and 10 percent off retail in the Zoo’s gift shops on Friday, November 11. Those wishing to participate should bring a military identification per above and present it at the point of purchase.

Active military receive free admission year-round at the Zoo. Active military dependents and retired military receive 10 percent off admission year-round. Military personnel are encouraged to check with the Leisure Travel offices at their bases in advance of their visit for other available discounts.

The Zoo is open daily year round. Fall/winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (exit by 5 p.m.) through March 17, 2017. The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. For more information, visit LouisvilleZoo.org.
