Louisville’s Lamar Jackson Show Continues

LouisvilleKY.com photographer Bill Brymer worked the Louisville Cardinals’ game against North Carolina State. Behind the fantastic Lamar Jackson, #7 U of L blew out the Wolfpack with a 44-0 first half en route to a 54-13 victory at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

As a result of the weekend in college football, the Cards moved up to #5 in both the AP and Coaches polls — thanks to Ohio State’s upset loss to Penn State, and previously unbeaten Texas A & M’s defeat against top-ranked Alabama.

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson cemented his favorite status for the Heisman Trophy, passing for 355 yards and 3 TDs while running for 76 yards and a score.

Still, most pundits say the Cards chances of making the 4-team college football playoff depend on more losses by teams above them — Alabama, Michigan, Clemson and Washington. Two of those teams, Clemson and Washington, face tough road battles this weekend.

Louisville’s next game is on the road at Virginia, followed by another road trip to Boston College, before U of L returns home in three weeks against Wake Forest. The Cards finish up at Houston, then host in-state rival Kentucky Thanksgiving weekend.
