LOUISVILLE, KY – ReSurfaced: Three Days at 10th Street will open on Thursday, Oct. 15th at a new location, in a parking lot at 10th Street and the Ohio River, near Connect/Disconnect, the city’s first public art installation along the River Walk.
The enormously popular ReSurfaced initiative will again feature local music, beer, bourbon, art and community. City Collaborative created the ReSurfaced initiative, and it partners with Louisville Metro Government and the Louisville Downtown Partnership to creatively activate under-utilized open urban spaces.
“People can’t get enough of this concept, and they are going to love the latest venue,” said Mayor Greg Fischer. “With the city skyline as a backdrop and the proximity to the Connect/Disconnect art installation, this is a cool new vibe.”
“ReSurfaced is a concept and not a location,” said Rebecca Matheny, Executive Director of the Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP) and a member of City Collaborative. “We are excited to take the ReSurfaced initiative to this new location and deliver another fantastic community experience for Louisvillians, as well as create increased awareness of the Connect/Disconnect public art installation and the exciting expansion taking place in the area.”
Local restauranteurs, Against The Grain, will serve as the event operator. In addition to ATG’s own craft beer, patrons will be able to purchase products from other popular neighborhood establishments like Old 502 and Kentucky Peerless Distillery. Local food trucks will also be on hand to provide a variety of offerings suitable for the entire family.
“As we continue the ReSurfaced initiative and move to new locations, we remain committed to staying local with food, music, art, and beverages,” Matheny said.
ReSurfaced: Three Days at 10th Street is being curated by the effort’s founder, City Collaborative, and advisory board member Jecorey “1200” Arthur.
In addition to music by DJ Sam Sneed, Thursday’s launch will include an Art Carnival, featuring an impressive lineup of local artists. New to this Resurfaced programming on Friday evening is a unique, edgy streetwear fashion show, featuring only local designers.
SlowFood Bluegrass is back by popular demand on Saturday, with another “SlowFood Fried Chicken Throwdown,” which will lead into a full night of local music, food and fun to close out the three-day event.
City Collaborative is a non-profit, community-based team that has provided high impact, fast-tracked projects such as the Louisville Love App and the ReSurfaced initiative. The dynamic team provides concepts and execution that are intended to have large scale impact that can be seen, heard and felt throughout the community.
